Things Your Barber Does To Stay Healthy… Skincare Edition 2024

Image
Hey guys! I’m going to make a few different posts about things I’m doing right now for my own health/wellness… (I’m a barber not a doctor- so disclaimer- this is not medical advice) This is my updated skincare routine as of December 2024. As a lady, loving skincare and makeup are in my genes… but this can apply to guys as well! If you know me, you know I tend to run on the ADHD side (to say the least). Some days I have the attention span of a goldfish. I also hateee spending money on things that don’t deliver dazzling results. I try to keep my routines as streamlined as possible. This is my routine laid out, am/pm for you guys. (I don’t get paid for any of these items- it’s just the things I’m loving right now) Why I swapped to bar soap: I’m doing everything I can to reduce toxin exposure in my home. I started using this facial cleansing bar, made with natural ingredients…. I heard about it on an podcast (of course). After trying every cleanser known to mankind, I’ve seen better result...

Getting the Best Experience at Wild Wolf Barbershop

Image
Hey guys! What is the best way to level up your Wild Wolf barbershop experience? Booking add-on’s to your next haircut! A basic men’s haircut service is a great way to boost your mood and leave feeling fresh and confident. I have to say- that hot lather neck shave and steamed towel really are the icing on the cake at Wild Wolf Barbershop…. Booking an extra service- like a beard trim, relaxing shampoo or brow wax- will really boost your experience that much more. A few minutes of your time and feeling a little bit more groomed- are the details I think make an appointment really shine. Many of these extra services aren’t available at the “big name” cut places- iykyk. So the next time you’re in Acworth and book a haircut with me www.wildwoldbarbershop.com and go ahead and add on service or two! See you guys there! -Jessie

Men’s Winter Time Hair and Scalp Care Tips

Image
Hey guys! Let’s dive in with something that you may be embarrassed to talk to your barber about. Those pesky scalp flakes that you can’t shake… dandruff. It’s winter time, so I see this issue a lot more in the barbershop than usual. (disclaimer- I’m not a doctor, so the best way to get right to the source of scalp issues is talking to your dermatologist) That being said- there are a few key products I’m recommending to all my barber clients here in Acworth, Ga. I’m also using these myself on a regular basis. These items are easily accessible online or in a drugstore/grocery store… I’m not selling them in Wild Wolf Barbershop, but I do recommend them. My number one recommendation is using- Nizoral shampoo at least 1-2x per week. When you lather up- let it sit 3-5 mins before rinsing it, to get the maximum benefit. You may not notice an immediate difference right away, but after a couple weeks, you should see a huge improvement. Follow that up with a basic conditioner. This can also be u...

Hi I’m New Here…

Whoa… my very first blog post ever. I have no idea what I’m doing exactly- other than finding new and exciting ways to grow my barbershop business. I run a solo barber suite called Wild Wolf Barbershop, in Acworth Ga. I’m not new to working for myself - but I’m brand new to completely working by myself. I had a partner up until about 5 months ago or so. We parted ways (maybe a future blog post for itself) and I moved into my own barber suite. Less than a week later, I was having carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel surgery. 3 total procedures on my left hand/arm… which left me out of work for a total of two months. Two months out of work sounds like a vacation to a lot of people but I was completely unprepared financially and emotionally to be out of work for that long. I never received a clear picture prior to surgery on exactly what recovery was going to look like. Many people told me they were driving the next day… it took me four weeks to be able to drive. One finger incision infe...
